Question: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR IDEAS FROM?
Simon Sidworth, Pickle Hill Primary School.
Answer: Strange little creatures called idea fairies ( a bit like tooth fairies, but far more generous ) often come flitting through my open workroom window then land on my shoulder as I'm typing and begin whispering all sorts of interesting things to me. For some reason that I don't understand, whenever I point out these idea fairies to other people, they are completely unable to see them.

Question: HAVVE WANTED YOU TO BE ALL WAYS A WIRTER ?
Mr T. Tray. U.K. Department of Education and Science. Section for spelling and grammar excellence in schools.
Answer: No, Mr Tray. But I have always wanted to be a writer. Just to complicate matters I also wanted to be a painter, a jazz saxophonist and a cowboy with a horse called Whirlwind. I couldn't afford the horse so I ended with the next best thing: Wayne Dobbs, the boy from next door, who I used to ride to school almost every day. Wayne didn't have much 'whirl' ... but he certainly had plenty of 'wind'.
